Mill Cottage is nestled in the pretty village of Rilla Mill on the fringe of Bodmin Moor. This charming Cornish Cottage dates back to the 1800’s and has been lovingly restored by its current owners with many appealing features offering a quirky and authentic feel yet having a contemporary twist with two bedroom accommodation.

Set within its own delightful gardens a wrought iron gate provides access to the property’s main entrance with a kitchen garden and in the spring a stunning wisteria is out in flower to the front of the cottage. A stable entrance door takes you into a stylish kitchen/dining room with slate flooring. A door from here leads to a cosy, comfortable living room also having a slate floor, where in the winter you can light the log burner and snuggle up with a glass of vino! 

The cottage comfortably accommodates 1 to 3 people with a spacious bright double bedroom having vaulted ceilings and a a king size bed, there is a further single bedroom with a single bed and trundle bed so it can accommodate up to 4 people if necessary. The bathroom has a fresh feel with a white suite having a bath and overhead shower. The cottage is warmed by electric underfloor heating on the ground floor and electric radiators on the first floor, which are simple to operate.

The lush cottage garden extends to the side of the property bordered by the “Leat” which used to serve the old water wheel at the “Mill House” which is opposite to the cottage. There is a raised decked patio which enjoys views across the garden and surrounding area and is where you can enjoy “alfresco” dining in the summer evenings with a cheeky gin and tonic.

A 20 yard stroll to the charming local pub “The Manor House Inn” is well worth doing as it offers a good rustic environment with local ales and excellent home cooked food, also with a “take away” option!

Useful Information


Dogs are negotiable and are only allowed on the ground floor with an additional cost of £30 per week and may not be left unattended in the property at any time. A pet sitting service can be available upon request.


Babes in arms are welcome and we can provide a travel cot and high chair, however, regrettably we cannot accept older children.

Parking can be found on the road, however cannot be reserved.


There is a deposit payable of 50% of the booking cost which is refundable up to 4 weeks prior to the booking date.
